Frequently asked questions
Can I upgrade or downgrade my plan at any time?
Yes. You can change between plans from your Account Subscriptions page. Upgrades take effect immediately and you will be charged the prorated difference. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing cycle, and any credit balance will be applied to future invoices.
Is there a free trial for paid plans?
Fan Premium offers a 14-day free trial (no payment method required to start). Artist Basic, Professional and Enterprise include a 30-day free trial for new creators. Enterprise trials include a guided onboarding call with the solutions team.
Which countries do you support for royalties payout?
SynthVerse supports payout via PayPal (available globally), Stripe Connect, ACH (United States), SEPA (EU/EEA) and EFT (South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho). Additional corridors are added based on demand; see the Royalties help page for the current list.
What is the Documentation Vault?
Documentation Vault™ is SynthVerse's immutable provenance registry. Every release receives an encrypted fingerprint, chain-of-custody log, creator attribution certificate and (on paid tiers) an optional blockchain timestamp anchor. Vault records are admissible evidence in copyright disputes.
Do I keep ownership of my music on SynthVerse?
Absolutely. You retain 100% of the copyright, master recording and intellectual property rights in the music you upload. SynthVerse's Terms grant us a limited, royalty-bearing license only to stream, distribute and promote your works on the SynthVerse platform and our licensed partner endpoints — you can revoke or narrow this license at any time per the Terms.
Can I distribute to Spotify, Apple Music and other DSPs?
Artist Professional and Enterprise tiers include optional third-party distribution to 80+ DSPs including Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, Deezer, Tidal, YouTube Music and Boomplay. Distribution is bundled at no extra charge on annual Professional plans.
How does POPIA apply to my data?
SynthVerse is fully compliant with South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA, Act 4 of 2013). We process only the minimum personal information necessary, maintain auditable processing records, and provide a self-service DSR portal under Account > Privacy where you can exercise all 6 POPIA rights at any time. See the Privacy page for details.
What counts as a "release"?
A release is any publishable collection: a Single (1 track), EP (2–6 tracks), Album (7+ tracks), Mixtape or Compilation. Each release counts toward your plan's monthly cap regardless of track count. Drafts and private works-in-progress do not count until published.
Do you offer student or non-profit discounts?
Yes. Verified full-time students, registered NPOs, community radio stations and educational institutions qualify for a 40% discount on Artist Basic and Artist Professional plans. Contact support from your SynthVerse-registered email with proof of enrollment or NPO registration.
Can I cancel and export my data?
You can cancel any paid plan at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle; no partial-month refunds are issued. Upon cancellation or at any time during active subscription you can request a full structured-data export (JSON + CSV) of your artist profile, releases, analytics and financial records under the POPIA Data Portability right.
